Happy National Doughnut Day! Throughout the day people will be heading to national chains and local shops that are offering free doughnuts to celebrate. But it's extremely easy (and much tastier) to skip the lines and the exorbitant amount of calories by making your own doughnuts:

These  are cute enough to eat, which is great because a serving is three (!) of these beauties.

 

If baked doughnuts just don't cut it for you, we don't shy away from frying in our  recipe. Best part? You still won't ruin your diet with just 178 calories per serving.

Investing in a doughnut pan (for usually about $10) will definitely pay off when you taste these shockingly rich .

Fluffy and sweet, yet packed with green tea and whole grains, these  check all our boxes.

Who needs gluten when you've got doughnuts? Definitely not these gluten-free .

Take a note from the Spanish, who call these rollos de anís, and serve our with a glass of Alicante Muscat or another sweet white wine.
