It’s one thing to find a vegan substitute for cream cheese that’s "good if you’re a vegan." But I’m no vegan. Still, ever since I tasted , I've made a beeline for the rich, tangy almond-milk based schmear every time I shop.

As if it wasn't enough to discover a creamy dairy substitute that I would choose to eat purely as a matter of taste and because it's better for me ( spreads are a great source of plant-based protein and unsaturated fats), as an added bonus, this delicious stuff is sustainably produced. Win, win, win!

Take home message: Kite Hill spreads are a little dab of plant-based heaven.

Currently, my favorite Kite Hill ritual is a healthy riff on Sunday morning bagels, cream cheese, and lox. Instead of bagels, I get large, flat-bread style seeded crackers and spread them with , smoked salmon, and fresh dill. It’s completely satisfying.
